Deeply depressed and suicidal
The reasons for my depression are too many to go into detail here. But I feel so hopeless and have lost all interest in anything. I am consumed with sadness. I have no support system and am estranged from my family. It seems I will never get out of this darkness and quite frankly I don't really have the will to. I am afraid of the suicidal thoughts that consume me. I fear I am on the brink of attempting so
Why
HI Jess!!
I know how being depressed feels and I know the kind of hopelessness you are experiencing at the moment. I know at times there seems to be no hope left, but please don't stop trying.
Try being positive and work hard to make things right for you. Being alone at this time makes it more tough. Please take care of your health too and don't give up trying. Often we try to ignore our good points. You are a strong person and I am sure you'll work it out in your favor.
SadGirl, you do sound very depressed. It is very hard to get past that place where we lose all interest. It sounds like you are feeling as if all the bad things in life outweigh any possible future good right now. It is such a hard climb to even get far enough out of the hole to begin to feel some sunlight, let alone get all the way out and be able to walk in the sun. (I hope that metaphor made sense to you -- being in a hole is how it feels to me.)
I won't say I know how you feel, because you are a unique person, and no one but you can know. But I have been in that dark place where it seemed impossible to ever have hope. I am so glad you came here, because that shows me you are still trying. There is some part of you that hasn't given up.
Also, have you tried a hotline? They can be more or less helpful depending on who you happen to get, but I have used them, and it was one more step to get me through. Here is the number I have called:
