Depressed boyfriend affecting my mental health
Hey guys. My boyfriend is in a really bad situation and he is making my life a living hell (unintentionally). He suffers from depression to which i try to stay calm most of the time but i lose my calm too sometimes. Even ive been suffering from depression since the past 5 years but when we got into a relationship i didnt know about his reality. He knew mine. He tortures me soo much mentally that its effecting my mental health now. Ive lost my sleep. Severe headaches to the point I feel my nerves will burst any moment. He has no support in family. He doesnt live with his parents. He lives with his aunt. Hes suicidal most of the time. I feel bad for all of this. I tried talking to his aunt that he needs supervision, he needs counselling. But she doesnt understand. Dont know what to do. I tried talking to him that you need therapy, counselling but he also doesnt realise that he needs help. Please help me out guys. I cant leave him because what if he suicides? He already feels very lonely. But his negative thoughts, getting sensitive on every other issue has made my life very difficult. Please advice me.
@helpfulBlackberry6937 Would he be willing to talk to someone at a suicide prevention hotline?

Hello, I had a similiar issue with an ex in the past. She was toxic but still deppressed which in turn made me more depressed and suicidal. You can't force him into therapy or force him to understand but you can try to talk you him about how this is affecting you and your health. Tell him how badly this is affecting you, and that you think that therapy can really benefit him. And if not for him then for you, because I'm sure he doesn't want to see you suffer or go through this stuff. The bad part of this is that he will blame himself if you tell him how this has been affecting you, because...it kinda is his fault. I'm sure it's not intentional but that happens sometimes and if he wants to help fix your relationship he needs to help himself first. If he's not willing to do therapy, you may need to take a break from him. I'm not saying you have to break-up or anything, but a solid 2-3 weeks can help you take a breather from his negativity.
Hopefully this helps! It's just my advice about what I would do in that situation, I hope things go weel for you guys. <3
