Depressed teenager
It seriously sucks struggling with your mental health especially when you feel like you have no one around you to talk with , I’m honestly struggling a lot with school and with my personal problems and sometimes it gets so f*cking hard I don’t even know if I’m still adrift or if I’m still hanging in there.
All I need is one second to breathe and to relax but it seriously feels like all my fears , struggles and works are drowning me and weighing me down.
i don’t even want to know how many overdue assignments I have now , it’s like every time I take a second to breathe the work just keeps piling on and on and I feel like it’s too late for me I feel like maybe there’s too much weighing me down and I can’t get back up , I’m failing one of my subjects right now in school and I don’t know how to fix it.
I have my big exams this year and I just don’t know how I’m meant to take care of my mental health physical health all whilst juggling school as well. Like it’s so hard to care about your school / social life when your drowning in your own struggles but it’s like when you finally come back to the top of the water and you aren’t drowning as much you realise how much sh*t you left behind and then all that sh*t just ends up weighing you down and it’s like a cycle that keeps on repeating itself and I’m so tired of it.
I would really appreciate any help or advice anyone could give me , thank you.

hi @generousSummer4038!
high school is tough, no kidding. you're stressing out so much.
for some practical advice:
- seek a therapist. solving your issues will take much faster the earlier you start.
- about the exams, request extra time or an exemption because of your mental state. speak to somebody about retaking the failed exam. I'm sure they are accommodating to students that are struggling academically or emotionally. don't quit school or drop out. i know its hard, i wanted to quit school so badly. but being in school is important for your career and yes even your mental health! most people that drop out are now addicted to drugs and alcohol.
- don't spend so much time with your anxieties. take some time to go out and have fun.
all the best! keep us posted! ❤️ jo
@generousSummer4038 Hi there, it definitely does suck to be struggling with mental health issues, on top of trying to have a social life and manage school assignments. It sounds like you are dealing with a lot right now and really just need a break. But it seems like the assignments just keep coming -- I imagine that feels quite stressful and overwhelming. I've had times like that in school before when I got really behind because my mental health issues made it hard to get work done, and then trying to catch up was even harder. It felt like swimming upstream. I found that prioritizing my mental health helped me because when I felt better mentally, school and everything else was easier and took less time. But that's just my experience; yours could be different. Have you seen 7 Cup's guide on Managing Emotions? It could help you to manage your emotions in a way so that you can balance your mental health, physical health, school work, and social life in a way that takes care of you. Sending hugs and a breath of fresh air your way <3
