Depression Meds & Tiredness
Does anyone else experience daytime tiredness while on anti-depressants? How do you combat it?
Hey! When I was on antidepressants, I often was very drowsy and tired in the day so I started taking my medication at night instead (with doctor's advice) and that solved it for me. 😊
@Mellietronx
@SilentSerenityy Okay. Mine said to take it in the morning.
So did mine but you can take them at night.
@Mellietronx
@SilentSerenityy I just started them a couple days, so I am going to see how I feel and if I am still tired in a week I will see what she says.
It could be due to just starting them. You can always ring up your pharmacy and ask for advice if need be and they can also let you know if you can take your medication at night instead of the morning.

@Mellietronx I've known people who experienced this. If you've only just started taking them, give it at least 2 weeks-month (depending on the specific antidepressant). Otherwise, you might have to take a different antidepressant. Best bet is to wait and then if the problem still persists, tell your doctor/psychiatrist that you're having these troubles and want to try a different antidepressant. Some of them naturally make you more tired or more hyper. It's about finding what'll work best for you, and sometimes takes a few tries. Best of luck!
