Does it get better?

It feels hopeless. I know there’s medication and I’ve tried therapy before (and in the process of trying to start again), but it feels like 90% of me would have to change to be functional. I mean, I’m working full time as a teacher now. But I can’t manage. I’m having anxiety attacks every Sunday and sometimes during the week too. It feels like every job or career is too hard and I’m never going to learn how to manage friendships/relationships, keep a clean house, take care of myself, etc. How does it get better from here?

I understand, sometimes life seems so hard to manage and find happiness. But you are here and there are great listeners here who can really give you space to chat, vent and process your feelings. You are not alone! We support you in this journey!

Heyy @reliableBranch2319. I understand, sometimes our emotions can feel overwhelming. feeling hopeless is entirely okay and reaching out can help us feel better. You don't have to be so hard on yourself. It's okay to feel whatever you're feeling. Sometimes stuff doesnt always tur out the way we always hoped for but we cant let our circumstances define who we are. Take baby steps with yourself dont rush stuff to happen. I wish for you all the best✨.

Hey, thanks for sharing. Yes, life is very very difficult. Self care isn't easy and there are always so many bills to pay. I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety attacks. I know someone in my family who also used to get bad panic attacks. She wrote a list of positive mantras and quotes and anytime the attacks came, she would take out the list and meditate on those quotes. It helped her a lot. She would also go out for a walk. She hasn't had panic attacks in a long time now. Please feel free to watch this video for encouragement as well: https://youtu.be/OUROG1elIF0

I would say focus on only one day at a time. Put the best effort that you can that day, and some days that effort can be as small as taking a shower or getting out of bed. Gradually through small efforts you will one day see that your life has gotten better, even if it is only slightly. You can also start by documenting your weekly wins, and expressing gratitude, which will focus your attention to the positive things happening in your life.
