Everything feels like a loop
I'm 19 and in college and lately things have seemed pointless and repetitive. Everyday feels the same, it's just a slightly different variation. Even the words I say and hear sound like it's all been said before. I don't even have a real job yet and I feel this way, I don't know how people at 50 have done this for so long and not feel everything is just a repeating cycle.
It's hard to go through the day like this, everything feels unimportant and like it'll never get any better and I have to live through it all until my body finally dies. Is anyone else struggling with the same thing?
@Paragon21 Well, yes... this is depression. It makes everything grey and dull.
When I started to come out of my long depression (a severe phase, but probably at least mild most of my life), I was like, "Wait, you mean this is how other people feel all the time? Like life is interesting and there are things to look forward to?" It was a startling thing to realize.
Keep going, keep trying; it's worth finding the way out of depression.
@ThisIs543 In my previous struggles with depression, I would feel awful a lot, but I still had things I could distract myself with. Now even those things (like hanging out with friends) are beginning to lose the enjoyment I used to get. It's so much harder to function like this, days can feel almost impossible to get through and my mental health is going to shit.
I'll try my best to get through it, I hope I have that kind of breakthrough eventually. Thanks for the response, I appreciate it :)
@Paragon21 There is a point with depression where it becomes difficult to manage on your own. I hope you can get help!
