Feeling Pathetic
I'm new here! I've been feeling so stupid and pathetic lately, as I hit my friends rental car and I got reprimanded at work. I've been trying to tell myself that humans make mistakes and that the situation isn't that bad, but I can't seem to shake the horrible thoughts in my head. I just feel so guilty and even more so because my friend isn't mad at me. They should be mad I hit their car...why aren't they mad? I have work again today. I'm nervous my boss will talk to me about yesterday. Every little thing is eating me up and I just feel so tired, that I can't do this anymore.
@TsukiMariko Hello, I am very happy to meet you on the forum. I think everyone will have troubles of one kind or another in life. This is life. We all doubt ourselves and feel deeply for the mistakes we have made. Deep self-blame, but please don't blame yourself too much for this, because no one is perfect, and the friends around you will not blame yourself too much for your mistakes, so please relax your mind, believe in yourself, and also Believe that the world is beautiful.

Hello,
From your experience, I think you are a very gentle and nice person. You will feel sorry for your mistakes, reflect on your mistakes, and worry that you will cause trouble for others.
But what I want to say is: don't care too much about others. Although this sentence sounds a bit selfish, we all live for ourselves, right? We are no different than anyone else, so you shouldn't be overly remorseful and guilty.
Moreover, since your friend is not angry, it means that your friend also cares about you and loves you. Your friend must have hoped that you would not be sad, so he/she didn't yelled you. However, if you are even more sad, wouldn't his/her good intentions be paid for in vain?
You should be more tolerant of yourself because everyone makes mistakes. And making mistakes is not the end of the world, as long as you correct your mistakes, then making mistakes will become good things for your life. (Because they help you improve)
I wish you a happy and wonderful future.

Hi I've read your post and I can understand why you're feeling down and guilty . It's okay . You seem like a nice person and you acknowledged your mistakes and reflected on them and that's great ! Don't be too hard on yourself we all make mistakes but what's really important and worth spending time and energy on , is learning a lesson so that we don't make these mistakes again and you're doing just that !
Also , your friend is not angry which means they love you and care about you , so instead of sinking in self blame maybe you should appreciate your friend and how genuine they are towards you and be thankful for them and cherish your friendship.
It's normal to be nervous about your boss repremanding you it's totally understandable . However , worrying about it would consume your energy and make you feel constantly down , how about you try to keep yourself busy and go by with your day and if your boss calls you don't stress about it , it is something that once happens you can put it behind your back and don't let it get to you and your self esteem , we all make mistakes one way or the other but that doesn't mean we're not skillful or worth appreciation for our work.
