Feeling worse again

I thought I was on an uphill trajectory, but I feel myself getting worse again. Maybe it's seasonal, maybe it's because the grind of school is tough, maybe it's because I'm jealous of my partner being excited about her new friends. Either way, it doesn't seem like the old coping mechanisms are working anymore. I really miss feeling like I'm getting better and that life is exciting.

Does anyone else feel discouraged about "losing progress"? What do you do to pick yourself back up again? Am I doomed to always be on a roller coaster of feeling better, then feeling worse again?

@arowanadreams Hi. Yes I have gone through this many times. I had a set of coping strategies that worked before, and found they were no longer an option. At first it was supportive family that helped me through, but the next crisis I faced they were not available or were less supportive. The next time, it was yet another thing that used to support me and it too was gone. It seemed “unfair.”

And I also saw that each time I came out of a dark place, that I expected that this time, the sunshine was going to last. My luck had changed, and was destined to go on for a long time. I thought I had figured out all the tricks and strategies to, I guess, “keep the sunshine shining.”

Later I cam to learn that things change, Everything changes. Constantly! We like to think that we have arrived at stability. Life sometimes seems stable. But anything in our life can change in an instant, in good and bad ways. Many times the other side of a hard time is a blessing.
