Feel lost after graduation...
I graduated a year ago, found a job but quit after several months because I didn't like what I was doing and the job location. Ever since then, I'm somewhat reluctant and afraid to look for new jobs because i think i might not like my next job and will have to go through the same thing again. Also, I find myself losing interest in the field that i studied in but I have no interest in other fields too. When I look at the job descriptions, I feel I'm not good enough or won't like that job...so I turn away from them. I cry almost everyday...I just feel so lost and worthless. I'm aware of this situation and how much negativitiy I'm bringing to my family as well. I guess I just don't have any goals/motivations in life..
@xyz123123 - I think it's tough because our generation was in many ways sold on this idea that we should have our dream job right away and only ever work on things we are passionate about, but I personally don't think that's always a realistic goal, or at least not a realistic first step goal.
To me, it makes the most sense to start by finding a job that feels acceptable - if you're not sure about what field you want to be in, maybe focusing on other things like location first - and then while you are working, you can take time to explore what you want to be doing longer term and start working towards those goals. You don't have to find the perfect job first, just something that works for now, which is hopefully a little bit less pressure on what you 'should' be doing! :)
@Anomalia You are absolutely right. There's not a "perfect" job and if there is, it doesn't come easily. I think I've been thinking too much and doing too little, I know I should put my worries behind me and just give it a shot. Perhaps my next job will be just like my last job or even worse, but like you said, at least I could find a location that I like and go from there.
I'll try not to dwell on the possiblity of not finding the perfect job or the feeling of how incompetent I am.
Thank you :)
