Frustrated.
Might seem shallow or insignificant my frustration, but I need to vent.
Sick and tired of my family always seeing my sister as this briliant child. DOn't get me wrong, she is truly gifted (insane talent on drawing).
But my family never takes my accomplishments seriously... I feel ridiculous for feeling this way since I'm 23, I should not deppend on their approval but.. I crave it.
Right now I'm learning sign language, learning the french horn, studying in university, taking my driving license, and making my french better. Also I write non stop (my dream is to become an author). But my parents brush aside any of these things...
They always mention how they want to hang my sister's drawings on walls, they praise her to family members, etc.
With me... the only thing they adress is that I'm a good student. But that's it. I'm cold, boring, and smart. While my sister is friendly, social, bright, beautiful and artistic.
I know is ridiculous feeling this jealousy and frustration, but I can't change how I feel... So i needed to vent this away. Is making my depression bad....
For whoever is reading, thank you for doing so.

Hey there :)
Learning sign language, the French horn, studying in uni, getting your drivers license, and trying to improve your French. Wow. You seem very talented to me as well! You are doing a lot of things that give you joy in life. It's not always about talent or doing more than someone else. As long as you enjoy what you do.
I am sure that your parents are very proud of you as well. Good parents will always try to make their kids feel happy and proud of themselves. In this case, it feels like you are being left out a bit and your sister gets more attention and recognition for her accomplishments.
You could always tell your parents that it bothers you and have a conversation about it. Now my dad isn't very good for me either and he will not listen to me at all. So what you can do to release some frustration is to write a no-send letter ( since you like writing ), which is a way to put your feelings and frustration on paper towards a certain person/s. That is how I released frustration towards my dad as well.
Much love xx laura
learning sign language is so humane
i love what you doing
