I have questions regarding hopelessness in life and suicidal ideation

Hello,

If you're fighting depression and/or are hopeless in life in general but are actively trying to seek help and getting better, I want your thoughts on this. Even better if you're a professional in this area who studies depression. I want to know if talking to people who have been suicidal for months but are still fighting everyday about how they push through each day helps a person who is struggling with the same. Does it make things better or worse for them?

Thanks in advance.

@becccca

Hoping to hear some good answers here :)

I looked up online and found this https://psychcentral.com/health/reasons-to-stay-alive some of these are quite nice and motivating to continue pushing hard ofcourse it is different for everyone tho

Would you like to try making a list of things, people, places anything you like or brings you comfort and joy? It could be from past or something from present , even coming up with 1 is great 🧡 the list can keep increasing as you spend more time on it

another list of things you want to happen in your life or you want to try like any dreams or goals etc

sending gentle and safe thoughts ❤

I can tell you that being here helped me to get beyond some of that stuff being a constant issue. When I began listening to others and supporting them, my brain started coming up with better ways to help myself. By constantly trying to be positive with others in crisis, I began to have the language to help myself.@becccca
