I honestly do not know what to do.
For five or so years, I have been feeling sick. Lately, I feel it has been getting worse. My brain fog is so dense I cannot focus on school anymore. Cannot sleep. I walk around stressed out, and walking on egg shells. It is getting so bad I feel I need to drop out of school for this semeaster. It is a hard decision for me to make because I will not be only dissapointing myself but my family will be as well. I will feel like a failure like I have always been. I quit jobs due to the illness. Everytime I quit something I feel more pressure added to me to "perform".
My therapist is very methodolical, condescending, and boring. My psychiatrist does not know how to help since I have been on everything. I feel like I am suffering from something that is not discovered yet and has no treatment for. I am slowly passing my life away with no energy, no passion, just existing until I do not exist anymore.
@AnonymousG I'm so sorry friend. That sounds like a really hard combination fo things you're feeling and going through. I know myself how bad it feels to give stuff up because you need to take care of yourself, but it's really important. Honestly it's so hard to do that and I'm proud of you for recognizing you have to try and change things to take care of yourself.
Sorry about your therapist. Could you maybe find another one? They're all individual people, and so each one is different from the last. Sometimes takes a few tries to find the right one for you.
I really hope you can find the passion and meaning you're looking for. We're rooting for you friend.
@AnonymousG
I am sorry to hear that your problem has been so persistent and that you are frustrated with the lack of progress.
I wonder if you discussed those feelings with your therapist?
I am pretty afraid to tell my therapist that he or she is not helping me.
@AnonymousG therapy is a cooperative work. It's totally normal to tell your therapist that what you've been doing isn't helping. If they don't respond constructively then time to move on. Changing things based on your input is part of a therapist's job.
@AnonymousG
That's perfectly understandable. However your therapist will be well used to hearing that things aren't working. The more feedback they can get the better they will be able to help. It may simply be that the modality that they use is not for you (there are many different kinds of therapy).
I do not know what to do. I feel sick all the time. Should I drop school and focus on getting better or weather it?
@AnonymousG
