I'm just feeling down
How do you deal with work stress along with depression. Just got out of a bad meeting with my boss and its really really getting me down
Hi! I'm so sorry that you're dealing with all this. What works for me, might not be the thing that works for you. That being said, I like to talk about what's going on. It helps improve my self confident and esteem hearing what I'm explaining from someone else. I struggle with logic when I have depression and anxiety. I also like to do some self care-eating my favorite food (tacos!) or taking a longer shower than normal. Just to remind myself that I'm still worthy and deserving. We want to support you here, so if you ever find you need support please feel free to reach out to me or any other listener for 1:1 support. :)
Feeling down, yet motivated. Keep trying and doing everything yet nothing feels like it's good enough. Feel that no matter how much I want something to work it never does..
@HiMisterKyle in a perfect world,bossses would not be allowed to treat other people with disrespect, or scold them like children, when we are unhappy at work , we tend to carry that home with us. but ,since this is not that flawless world with bosses that always greet you with a kind word and a smile, you just have to block their negative vibes in any way that works for you.
you have to remember that no matter what, people who are not youre friends or family do not deserve a place in youre mind , they will not be around you forever ,and whatever they do or say comes from their own anger and disatisfaction, and not because you deserve it.
@Ylina Hi, thank you for the reply. The thing is on that day I was fully confident in myself, most days I'm not but that day I helped all my clients without relying on other people. I'm a bit new to this job and the is a lot of that I don't know so fixing things by myself is kinda big deal for me, I did things my boss couldn't do, that confidence was all gone after that meeting. It took so long for me to feel okay at my job
@HiMisterKyle Thats ok, we all have a bit eager to do well on a new job, but thats just the key in, to not let every tiny bit of criticism take away our confidence. everything takes some getting used to, so make sure u boost yourself every day even if noone else does, give people in the office a chance to know u are good at what you do, and even if you are new, you re the sort of person they want around.bosses really are good at breaking down peoples achievement, so even if you dont get a "good job"every time , its important for you to feel good about yourself in the place where you spend the better part of the day^^
@HiMisterKyle
Hi Kyle,
I often tend to find myself in similiar situtaions when college work gets too much and teachers start stressing at me. In these times, I try to either improve on what they've said or in your case, understand why your boss was unhappy with you which lead to a bad meeting, or take a break to reflect on everything. This could consist of taking an evening off and having a nice relaxing bath and spending sometime just making yourself happy. I know that depression and work stress is hard but I know that you will get through it. If depression is really affecting work then seek medical help by visiting a doctor or take time off work. Dont let horrible bosses ruin your day, especailly when you're trying your best!
You could also try trying to someone to help you find suitable sloutions to your problem. Just remember anyone on 7cups is avaible to help you.
I am sorry that you feel this way.
