I'm never enough

I like this guy. We talk every single minute of the day, we joke and we are pretty close to each other.

but he's kinda in love with one of my best friends.

I'm always the ugly friend. I'm the one who is worthless.
Besides, my best friend is so freaking perfect and I'm not even close to "beautiful"
I'm jealous. I wish I could have half of her beauty but instead I'm a little piece of shit.

Who could love a mess like me?

Your appearance doesn't define your value, nor does the love of this guy.

Besides, I'm willing to bet you aren't ugly, very few people in the world are ugly, and it's seldom due only to their looks.

It's not the first time something like this happens.
Everybody choose her before me. I'm always the second option, but this time, i'm not even an option.
I know it's not her fault, but she's beautiful, intelligent, funny, nice. everything i'm not.
I'm so pissed about that.
I've got feelings, but it's not like it matter.

Hi.

Its weird that we always seem to be attracted to people whom we perceive to be "out of our league" isn't it? It seems like one of life's cruel jokes.

Well. That's how we feel. We feel unworthy. We feel out friends don't really like us, they just tolerate us. We feel members of the opposite sex just hang out with us out of pity or politeness.

Thats how we feel. How we feel is almost always different from what is real. Reality is not quite that bleak. Of course we feel it is, society has weird standards in place that make even the most well-adjusted people feel defeated sometimes. What more for misfits like us right?

We can't always get what we want in life. Heck, not even most of the time. In your case, this one guy. There is someone out there who does like you for you. You just gotta wait and believe.

And if you really do like that one guy. Pray (if you're religious) or do whatever positive thinking stuff (if you're atheist), never know, the powers that be might just grant you that wish.

I'm almost like you. I'm always forgotten. Always left out. I don't think the people in my life actually even like me. And well, I'll have that insecurity for the near future (ain't gonna overcome this overnight) and I just have to believe the people I want in my life want me in theirs as well. Just have to believe I do make them happy, their smiles aren't forced.

You gotta come to terms with yourself, then only you can handle others (be it, friends, potential romance interests, family, etc)

I've got the lowest self esteem someone could have and things like this break me down.
I just want to feel i worth something. Even if it's just once in a life time.

Whenever I feel worthless, I want to do something altruistic that'll positively affect someone else. Try donating blood, or doing some charity work.

And also, while you may or may not be able to choose your intelligence or humor, you can definitely influence how nice you are.

Can't be that bad. I've had grey hairs since i was seven. I'm not even 20 yet and i have way more white hairs now. I also wear glasses which somehow manke me look 30+ years old. So basically i'm a teen who could pass off as someone's father or very much older borther at least.

How attactive do you think i feel? Cos girls ain't lining up round the block to see me. Heck, I can count the number of female friends I have on one hand.

People say 'thats not snow on your head', call me 'gramps' and 'old man'. I'm used to it though. I have a semi-functional personality so thats good. I just accepted it (I never really cared that much to begin with) and take it all in jest.

Even now, when I'm supposed to start thinking about romance. I just don't. Point is, its unlikely you're that bad looking. Usually no one is. Bad self image, now thats an epidemic.

I understand your point.
Idk. Maybe I'm not the ugliest in the world but if you see my friends you'll know that what i'm saying it's true.
Even sometimes I like some boy but he just want me as a friend and i'm okay with that. But in this case he's in love with one of my best friends and I, as a friend of them, get stuck in the middle and it's an awful situation

they're like models.
Nobody thinks models are ugly.

@Trinidad -To be honest I have personally seen models I found unattractive. I have also heard that somedesigners prefer putting the focus on the clothes rather than the model's beauty. So sometimes it is all about how your body wears what you wear if you are a fashion model, or how your face compliments their makeup if you are a makeup model. Things like that. It is not that they think models look perfect or so pretty. If the model compliments their work or what they are trying to advertise that is their primal goal. Yes some look perfect; some with Photoshop and others actuallylook good even in person, like your friend as you think, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I suggest you see this Ted Talk.

There was a great quote I heard some time ago: "Why would you want to look like people in beauty magazines? Even people in beauty magazines don't look like people in beauty magazines."

Hope you get it :)

It reminds me of my relationship. I knew a girl through a friend and we often went for drives all 3, and one day we went to hers and her other friend was there. She was attractive and I'm nervous around girls certainly back then so i spent all the night staring at the other one rather than her friend and she thought i liked her due to that and sent a text.

That night we met up and hard a bit of fun that led to a relationship its certainly had its ups and downs but I fell in love with her and realisedhow beautiful she truly was. Her friend was also ugly inside. I eventually told her about it and it upset her and she still today thinks I don't find her attractive but she is so beautiful and makes me get butterflies still to this day and if will remind her till the day I die.

Basically tell him. Tell him how you feel and if he says no he says no. Maybe he can fall for you and realise how beautiful you truly are

I don't know what would happen if I tell him something. I don't want him to stop talking to me.

The very mistake a girl shouldn't do is to compare herself!
by comparing yourself to this friend you're doing little to yourself ! every girl is unique on her own way & what matters the most is to love your ownself! don't wait for a boy to do it for you !love yourself & never compare yourself to anyone because I bet there's no two of you on this entire planet ^^ love yourself accept yourself the way you are & try to be productive to boost your self-esteem :)

it's okay don't be pissed! it doesn't happen over night , it takes time & work .. start from within, what is good about you? what do you like about yourself ? what are you good at? how can you change the things you don't like about yourself ?.. just give it a thought , you have to start from somewhere :) feel worthy of your own love & start from there .. & don't forget everyone is good & worthy of love on his own way :)

hi I was looking over for your post to see how you're doing & I wanted to suggest something for you. Whenever you feel like comparing yourself to your friend go learn something new or do something without her just do it by yourself. Whenever I want to feel better about myself I go & try something new all by myself. you can start playing an instrument for example, start practicing any sports you like or even pick up a new indoor hobby.. hope this will help :)

I guess i'm doing better.
Sometimes I walk in front of the mirror and instead of pointing my flaws, I think about things I like about myself.
It's hard, but i guess i can do it.
So, yep.

Its all about finding the right one! I fell in love with the most beautiful girl in the world and all people could ask me was why would I date her when I could have anyone. To them she was not all that but to me, she was everything. I think we all have that opportunity, that special person out there. Sometimes it is the one we least expect. Just keep smiling and they will notice.
