In a dark slump...
I have always had low self esteem. I dont know if Ive ever really truly believed in myself and of what I can be capable of. These past months Ive been in such a slump, and I cant seem to get out of it.
Being a quiet, socially awkward 28 year old is taking a toll on me. Why cant I be relaxed in social situations like most? Why do I feel so threatened? Why cant I stop comparing me to everyone else? It never ends well. I go into a negative spiral and in some weird way it feels like I should feel this way, even if I dont.
Id love to be confident but I dont know how. What is there to be confident of?
My chest is so heavy and this affects my relationship.
Some advice?
Thank you.
Hello,
I'm sorry to hear you've been going through a rough time struggling with social situations and low self esteem. It is very brave of you to reach out regarding your experiences and I hope you'll find some help here.
It sounds like you feel threatened in social situations (tbh I've had the same feeling, I get so scared and anxious over the littlest things that no one else seems to care about) and that could be social anxiety. There are some 7cups guides that may be useful to you if you're interested in finding ways to manage these feelings.

I hope they help! Also feel free to talk to a listener or the chatrooms any time you need support!

I am sure most of us feel like this once in a while, it's been few weeks since I feel down yet I push myself up and kept on going. Low self-esteem results from a lot of factors but mostly us not practicing enough self-love. Cut yourself some slack and try to get your mind off things that will bring you down. Treat yourself, do something you like.
Hope this is a temporary situation and it would past you like wind.
Take care!
