It's getting worse....
I'm just getting more depressed and i have no one to really help me, or rather, i can't talk to anyone and no one cares to try with me.My girlfriend is talking to me less because she is "too sympathetic" and can't deal with me. She just talks to this guy who was my friend for several years. She acts burdened by not being able to help me when she doesn't really try, although she acts like she does. No one tries anything new with me, not her or my family, and then they wonder why i'm no better. She is best friends with this guy and she is my only friend... I have wanted to be good friends but i don't think it will work out now. I know how i am and how she is, so i'll just be depressed and unable to do anything or make friends or even talk to people, and if she can't handle that, things are inevitable. She won't tell me how she feels about anything or even talk openly with me. I am not good enough for anyone and things are pretty bleak. I'll just end up killing myself, probably not for a while, but eventually it will happen.
Depression is an illness. When a loved one gets seriously sick we sometimes feel overwhelmed, and distract ourselves. Your girlfriend finds support, and escape talking with this friend of her. She feels overwhelmed by the situation, so in turn, distracts herself as a coping mechanism. I understand you feel she's doing nothing, but instead, she feels unable to help you.
Although depression often has environmental causes, the depressed person has to cooperate in his or her recovery.
I invite you to see a doctor. If you can see a psychiatrist and a psychologist, perfect. This passive suicidal ideation indicates a severe depressive state, however, with the aid of a professional, you can get through this.
Greetings.
Luis Lara.

Hey I am in a relationship state similar to you.. My boyfriend suffers from depression and he doesn't really share any of it with me.. He never shares anything with me and keeps talking about death.. Exactly how you sed that u will end up killing yourself someday.. But u know sumthin I am really making every effort to find out but I have been warned by him not to ask his friends.. N he won't tell me himself.. So basically I feel helpless whom should I talk to if he is not letting me into his life and pushing me away this way? He doesn't understand how terrible I feel because he is just given up on a every relation.. Me, and his family.. How is this fair to me?? I'm starting to feel I'll valued in his life now.. I feel like a redundancy.. His behavior has been affecting me adversely.. I feel lonely with him being in my life.. I don't know what my place is in his life anymore.. I want to help.. I am desperate but how must I make him help me to help him??
My girlfriend feels like I don't want to hear what she has to say because she thinks I am too critical, or something like that. Once we were talking about Christianity, so I said a few things I thought were interesting, but then she felt bad because I knew more than her (and she is Christian and I am not). She also acts completely differently to me than others, she won't talk about what she's interested in or small, basic things, because she doesn't want to upset me, or so she says, but I feel as if she just doesn't want me to be disinterested in things or reject her in some way. It always makes me feel bad that she doesn't really open up with me, but then says she does. She says nothing to me that she does to people she would call friends. So I guess I'm really not
Hi there. I'm not sure on your relationship status. But if you are willing to be completely open with your girlfriend, have you told her these things. That you want her to be completely open with you about herself, without fear of upsetting you? Or that it upsets you that she's more open with others? If she doesn't know this fully and understand that, she can't fix it. But it's understandable that she doesn't want to hinder you in any way. She cares to look out for your well being. Maybe it's easier to see a specialist, or something like this online chatting. Because I personally feel it's hard to be completely honest with the ones we love and not hurt them at some point with how we are Truly feeling on the inside. We don't want them feeling like a failure because they can't solve all our problems and make us 100% happy. So it's hard for them, which makes it hard for us. So maybe outside help is a best option, professional or not. Because just talking about your inner struggles help. And it's easier to a stranger sometimes. They don't know you and can't take anything personally. I've been going through the same situation with my boyfriend. That's why I'm here because he's going for his goals and dreams, and successful. And I am in a dark place where I have no clue what I want to do with my life. I'm so lost and have no hope in myself. So I keep to myself more often because I don't want to hinder his success. I do not think you should end your life. I think if you truly want to get better you should seek professional help, or be very committed, and take small steps to get better. Or think about others, like your girlfriend. Maybe you don't understand what that would do to her! She would probably blame herself somehow. And it would shake her world and others that care for you. It wouldn't solve anything. Just because you're gone doesn't mean things are better. They'd be worse for those it affected! And your "solution" to your problems would in turn create deep problems for those who care for you. Wouldn't it be better to work on yourself and battle what your going through, to get better, succeed and be a stronger better person because of it?! That's honorable and self fulfilling. I hope any of my endless blabbing helps in any way. Hope that you see the value and light in yourself anytime darkness comes creeping in.
