Kinda lost. Is it just me? Or do you battle this too?
I was in love with my boyfriend for 5 years before we got together. I literally waited 5 years for him to realize we both felt the same way & to give us a shot. Now that we're in a relationship, we're coming up on our 5 year anniversary. All the time I 2nd guess myself & always wonder if he really loves me, because when we get into an argument or really anything, he's one of those men that doesn't talk about problems & he will not talk about his feelings. So I don't know what he's thinking or feeling in any manner & half the time he doesn't show emotion. I was good with it first 3 years we were together, but now that I had my son & got diagnosed with PPD & it feels like everything has intensified by 1000. I hate my body, I do not think I'm pretty anymore, of course both of those things occurred before pregnancy but it's literally so much worse now. When he even looks at another woman it hurts me so deep inside because I feel like I'm so unattractive that he is looking at other females for some type of satisfaction. I hate when I use his Facebook to look up something & he's looking up other females that affects me the worst. With that being said I know 100% without a doubt he is not one to cheat... I just wanna know what to do to help this. How do I become more confidence in myself & in our relationship? I know it's going to be annoying to him & it's got to be affecting our relationship in a negative manner.
anyone else have this issue?
@fearlessPeach788 envy and insecurities are common in realtionship but you have perspective to realize that these are affecting your realtionship negatively and that you want to change. We can never be sure if our partner for sure will not cheat or love another, but a constant questioning will only drive us insane. It will also make our partner eventually more and more tired of reassuring us that we can trust them.
I had a relationship that ended since I was also very insecure that taught me to love myself first as corny as that is. I based all my happiness on what he thought of me, if he paid attention to me, if he gave me this or that, etc but that is exhausting. Now I give myself all that I wanted whether it's treating myself to a homecooked meal, a walk in the park, a fun move night, or anything I enjoy. This is my perspective and my two cents, but realtionships become much more freeing and better when you love yourself first because love and validation from others is subject to change and that's okay because at the end of the day, we have ourselves and we are pretty amazing too
