Little interest or pleasure doing things

The last and greatest symptom of my major depression I’m trying to beat is having no interest in doing things or doing activities on impulse with the engagement lasting a few hours or days at the most. I want to be able to enjoy things to their completion, for example I enjoy video games as my #1 hobby but the past few years I’ve found I can’t stick to 1 or 2 things and see them through. I always get bored or another thing catches my interest and I switch to that and abandon the other. This constant switching between games and hobbies isn’t fulfilling and I really want to be over it. I don’t know how many antidepressant combos I need to go through before something sticks, my anxiety is managed and my living situation is better than before but this last hurdle seems insurmountable.

@Psytato

thank you for sharing this with us on 7 Cups! Opening up about personal struggles takes a lot of courage and i'd like to take a moment to appreciate you for it. I'm so glad that you've been able to manage your anxiety better and have improved in other areas too.

With regards to your depression, it sounds like you're having trouble trying to retain your interest in an activity and things do not seem to provide long-term engagement and pleasure for you. I can only imagine how frustrating it must get for you at times :/ Please take care and I hope that like the other hurdles you've overcome in your life, this one gets easier for you too!
