Living with someone who may have depression

Hi Everyone,

I guess I'm here to try and find some answers. Or something. I don't know. Maybe I just need a place to say this because I haven't vocalized it anywhere. I think my spouse is suffering from depression. There is no diagnosis and I know he would never go and talk to someone. But over the past few years he has really turned very negative and angry. Bitter. He's someone who will point out the wrong or negative about almost everything. He's critical. He'll be chatty and okay, and then he'll just stop talking to me because he's mad about something. I guess. I don't know. One moment he's okay, and then he just doesn't talk and sulks or goes off and does things by himself and it could last a day or more. He's resentful of just about everyone and everything.

I don't know if it's depression, but I think it's a pretty good thought. I can't say "hey, I think you might be suffering from depression." I don't know what to do, but it's affecting me and has affected our son and it's exhausting.

Any thoughts or guidance is appreciated.

Hey! You can talk to him about his feelings and if it gets really worse I would recommend a therapist! I know it can be exhausting and I'm here for you! Let's get your spouse the help he needs!
