Loneliness and lost

I've been in college for about a month and two weeks now and college has been super depressing for me. Possibly because I feel beyond lonely or that the first three weeks were too good to be true---with a guy I met and everything was great but then after that everything went downhill and rejection really got the worst of me.And it had bothered me til now and I don't know when I'll be able to recover. But apart from that, college is so lonely, maybe the reason why I'm always left alone with these thoughts that eats me up. Everyone has their own life and schedule and it's hard to make close friends whom you could talk to or hang out with to help you get your mind off of things like this.I feel as though everyone has their life in place or just managing really well with everything, emotionally and academically, meanwhile I'm winging everything. I know I'm starting to concern some of my high school friends that I've been ranting to. I really think I might just be a bit depressed and I don't know how to cope with it alone. I think the guy and the loneliness is affecting me in many ways...I'm not focused and I feel like I space out most of the time, I don't know what to do.

@twah, is there some kind of club you could join to meet more people? Or maybe you could try to start your own group doing whatever. I bet there are probably many others there that are in the same situation as you.

I'm new to this website, and your's is the first posting I read. Stick in there girl/boy - things will get better, just wait and see. Just remember that there are a lot of people who feel exactly the same, but they probably don't show it - just as you don't. Very scary suddenly finding yourself alone in the big wide world. You made plans for your life or you wouldn't be where you are now. And you've workedhardto get there and deserve it.Get loads of fuel for your life ahead. Learn and suck up everything good, learn to say yes to the good stuff, learn to say no when you need to. Accept invitations, go to stuff on your own, feel proud of what you've acheived. Everything will all fall into place soon, and I hope youcan start enjoying life x x

As someone who struggled with similar issues, I advise you to take action soon. Go see a a counselor or psychologist, consider taking SSRIs, try to make friends. If you don't do all those things you'll risk your academic career.
