Never going to feel better
Hi, this is my first time listing here. I have been on depression and anxiety meds for a couple of years now and I start feeling better and then get another deep bout of depression that makes me think I will never get better. I feel so discouraged. I feel like a burden on my husband and like I'm bad for my son to see like this. I am not being a good employee, good wife, or good mom. I just want to sleep because that is all I have energy for. I'm physically and emotionally drained. I just don't know what to do to turn the corner in healing. It's such a lonely struggle and it seems never ending 😭 Having a really hard time this week in particular and I don't know how to stop this cycle.
Hey there, @neonBranch6370
First of all, I just want you to know how proud of you I am for posting in here and sharing your struggles. I know it's not always easy to find the energy to type up a paragraph and open up when we are having a tough time. We are here for you at 7 Cups!
I'm glad to hear that your meds are usually helpful to you in dealing with yur struggles. Depression is hard and it can often feel like a cycle when things start to get better but then they get rough again. I just want you to know that it's okay to struggle. It's okay to have a rough time. It doesn't mean that you are a bad person in any way and even less a burden to others. Your struggles do not define you. You are so much more than what you are going through. It's okay to take time for yourself and sleep a little more. Depression can make it hard to have energy and motivation to do the things that we usually do. I'm sorry to hear that this week is extra tough for you. I know it feels very lonely when you are in this dark place, but always remember that you are not alone. We are all here, less than a mesage away, on 7 Cups to provide you with support.
I'm wondering, do you have any other support in your life in dealing with this? Is talking to a professional something you have/would like to consider? You deserve support
I know it can be hard to believe that things wil get better when we are stuck in this seemingly never-ending cycle, but I can assure you that you are not alone in feeling this way, and nothing lasts forever. That doesn't make it any easier it deal with now, but I hope you can find a little comfort in knowing that the bad times will eventually pass.
