I am a college student lying in bed which I havent left yet today because I skipped all of my classes. Then I check my phone in the afternoon to no texts. That is what kills me. Nobody gives a shit if I leave my room or not and I think thats what keeps me in here. Help.

@Tbigbro278 Gosh I'm so sorry you're so down right now. I've definetly been where you are, wondering if anyone cares whether I go do anything. It's ok for you to take a day to process how you're feeling, so I hope you don't feel bad about staying in bed tomorrow. I really hope you feel better.

This person got a depression and it's not easy getting out when you're down and when u ask for an attention and no one showed up, it makes u feel a lot worse. Everyone of us like abit of attention. If your own family gives little sympathy and love and kind words your own mom wouldn't be that depressed today.

To the person who skipped school , school is the only place that keeps u going. Keeps u busy. Keeps u from being severely depressed. Keep going no matter what. Most schools and colleges have counselling. Use it to help you. You won't regret this when you've graduated. Stay strong.

@Tbigbro278 What you need to do is get up, get out, and go to school first of all. Then you need to go have some fun! If you're supposed friends did not text you, well .. screw them! Go out and find some new ones. Friends come and go. I'm 31 years old. I've been thro friends like rolls of toilet paper. True friends are hard to find. Stop degrading yourself and making yourself feel like a nobody. You are somebody.

Hi there, sweet pea <3 I am so sorry to hear that you're struggling so badly with motivation at the moment - adjusting to college life is really really hard, let alone when you're also coping with depression.

I've recently started a degree programme myself, and I've been having to face a lot of what you're experiencing right now - it's so hard to go from your whole day being planned out to having a really unstructured day, and still so much work to get through! When we drop some classes, we spiral into guilt where we don't want to go out at all, and end up hating ourselves more.

For me, what really helped was to set myself targets, and try to draw up a daily plan for myself, to give myself the structure that I crave - including things like exercising, going for walks, going out and meeting new people, study sessions, Netflix binges, trips to the supermarket. It also helped me to remember that other people feel just as isolated and adrift, and by reaching out to ask someone if they want a cup of tea, need anything from the shop or want to study together can really build bridges.

Above all, remember that it's never too late to make a change, to turn your day around <3 It might get to 4 o'clock and you're still struggling to get motivated, but think of how much you could really get done in two hours if you set your mind to it!

This guide may help you, love, and please do reach out to me if you want to talk 1 on 1, I'd be honoured to hear from you.
