Opening up
Ive suffered from depression on and off for 10 years and always dealt with it on my own,
im looking for advice on how to begin talking about it to someone, I've thought about a private doctor but am unsure, I've spent so long hiding my depression from my family, friends, employer, doctor...etc that I'm too scared to tell someone. I can't see my usual doctor as it needs to remain off of my medical records.
Does anyone know of any private doctors in London, England? That I could contact, or any advice.
@SamiKde I thought about paying for some counselling myself recently, however, I was told by someone I shouldn't have to pay. I've recently found local community group that offers free counselling. Unfortunately I'm not in London, although the mental health charity Mind may be able to offer you free counselling. You can find your local one here: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/local-minds/.
There's also the Samaritans: https://www.samaritans.org/node/3367.
If you wanted you could also contact the Samaritans by email or phone. There's also an organisation called Sane https://www.sane.org.uk who you can phone. However, I think you may have to pay landline costs for both or either Samaritans & Sane, I'm not sure.
I hope you find the help you need. x
@SamiKde sorry about the double thread, I thought it hadn't posted.
I feel like I'm doing really well and I am but sometimes I feel like I don't really have bipolar.
@SamiKde, just letting you know that I moved your thread from the daily check-ins category to the general threads within our sub-community.
Also, if you ever log in again to 7 Cups, please let us know how are you feeling - would love to hear from you. Best wishes!
