Hi y'all,

Thought I'd start up a thread for ideas for positive coping mechanisms with depression to help each other out! One of mine is singing at the top of my voice :)

That's a great idea. Thanks for creating this thread ❤

I usually listen to music or go out and take a walk ^-^

@healingSea50 Writing helps me too, it's a great way of getting out what you can't say aloud

I think keeping a journal really helps to keep you grounded! :)

@SarahAndIchigo I definitely agree! It can also help you find what triggers you or when things are worse to better cope

@jovialRose99

One coping skill I use is...

~ Sitting on my window ledge with the window open, breathing in the fresh air watching the world go by.

If I was more of a distraction..

~ I normally do some colouring and listen to music!

Go outside. Breathe deeply. Walk. Sit. Stand. Feel the cold air or sun shine (depending on where you are) on your face. Listen. Stretch. Be in that moment.

Sometimes you need to step outside, get some fresh air and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be. –Gossip Girl

@Mellietronx

That's a really good coping skill, especially since heated blankets make you feel all warm and cozy, and youtube has funny cat videos. <3
