Right to feel this way
People still do not know how important is the validation of emotions. Actually I neither did, until recently.
I have depressions since I was a child, and when I was 13, I was thinking about suicide very often. I was bullied at school, was experiencing domestic abuse at home, I was sexually abused, I had no friends, no one to talk about what I was going through, what's happening at home, at school. And when I found some place on the internet, a forum about depression or so, I said how I felt and everyone was just like... You are spoiled, do not complain, you are young and know nothing about life and suffering... Family members, teachers at school, neighbours and many other adult people must have known that I was not okay, but no one ever tried to help me, recommend me to visit a health care professional, or so. For the first time I have visited a psychologist when I was 18, we were only talking about what time I eat or go to sleep, nothing about the trauma I had. Then she told me I need no help.
When I was 20, I went to psychiatrist and again - he told me he cannot help me.
Now I am 25. I have a psychiatrist who admits I am severely ill, for the first time, but still just writes a prescribtion and bye. Once she even told me I am just a spoiled kid who needs to be punished.
I have no friends in real life, but when I talk about my problems and feelings in the internet, everyone is just like... Cheer up, dont think about your struggles, you are too sensitive, why don't you just pull together, you need to try, you are lazy, collect your thoughts, you're just self-pitying...
DAMN NO. My feelings are important and people who have been overlooking my issues all my life have severely hurted me. I need to be heard and supported. I deserve compassion, I deserve love and attention! And that I talk about my feelings so much? Yes, I do. Because it hurts the more, the more you victimize me for them.
@NotRelaxedPanda
I totally agree with you! You deserve to feel validated and heard.
I understand. This all is very hard to experience. And no you're not a spoiled child and you deserve just as much help as anyone else does. I'm sorry about the professionals that talked to you and said that you didn't need any help. I'm sorry for the people online and what comments they made isn't very nice and is invalidating and you don't feel heard by them. Being bullied I know is very hard to experience especially when those things were going on in your home. I understand those thoughts and it would make sense why you started having them. I'm sorry that those professionals didn't help you very much if at all. I'm sorry that they told you that you don't need help when you do. I understand not having any friends in life. And traumas are hard to experience and process and I'm sorry that you didn't get to talk about them either. I hope that you're not alone on 7 cups. I hope you feel heard and validated on 7 cups. If you ever want to talk we have listeners that are willing to talk to you about your struggles and provide a non- judgemental enviroment. I hope you feel better and I know this can make a persons mental health worse. 7 cups cares about you and wants to listen and support you. We have tons of listeners out there. And then the group chats as well. And please take care of yourself and your mental health it's very important. I hope you have a good day/night and feel better!
