My sons father was physically abusive. I decided to cut him off and also cut him off my sons life and his family. He has been constantly trying to reach out to me to see his son. I feel like a horrible person, and I just feel so emotionally drained. I have 0 friends that I can vent too. It sucks because all I wanted was to be a family and everything turned out to be a mess. I just don’t understand why...

Hi, that's tough indeed. Sounds like you want peace for everyone, a healthy environment for the kids to grow but the other person is too self-centered to understand and think for the kids' best benefit. Is that what you meant?
