Stuck

I've been for several counselling sessions, but I don't think it's working. Don't get me wrong. The counsellor was amazing, the problem lies with me. I can talk to her about events & incidents just fine. But everytime we talk about how I'm feeling, I instinctively lie to make it sound like I'm doing better than I really am. I've tried some suggestions from her, which included talking to a friend about my depression. It only made me realise how talking about my depression is very unhelpful to me.

I'm honestly sick of constantly being miserable, and I just want it to go away. I exercise & try to eat right. I've taken the suggestions from counselling. But I just don't feel like it's improving.

I know there'll be suggestions of persevering with the counselling sessions or changing to another counsellor, but I am really not a fan of talking therapy. I don't know where to go from here, but I don't want to be stuck with depression for the rest of my life..

@Tinyheart
The good thing is that you actually do something, to get out of it.
Don't lie to your therapist, she is there to help you. If you give non-accurate information, you can get irrelevant advice.
Everyone is progressing at his own pace. There's nothing said like you will get over it after idk 3 mnths of therapy. Take your time, it's a serious thing. No rush.
Keeping it inside would make things only worse, if you want to be anoynymous talk to someone here.
It's up to you whether you stick to counselling. Think about it and decide. Just keep in mind that "i don't feel like doing it" doesn't mean "i won't do it". Sometimes you have to do things even if you feel down, are tired, have low motivation, or wthvr.
There are times you will lose motivation and/or become stuck. If you want try reaching to someone close, talking to someone here on 7cups can also help. But, in the end, you have to keep yourself going. Ask yourself how bad do you want it? how bad do you want to recover? Write it down, have it in visible place. You need to be driven to do it. That's part of recovery too.
Taking care of yourself is good thing to do. Dealing with depression is one thing. Staying healthy and in decent shape helps in recovery but also works well for your health.
When it comes to antidepressants, for some those works, for some not. Same as every other medicine they have side effects. And as far i know you need to take 'em for some time to get resuls (if any).
You can be, hell you are, frustrated with it. Just remember, healing takes time. Some do it faster, some do it slower. Don't be so discouraged. Unlike fitness it's not something you can measure and tell "since last time i improved for 10%".
If you stick to your therapy be open with your therapist, be honest with her.
Nothing worth having is easy to achieve, keep it in mind.
