The most important person in your life is yourself,

Stop believing when someone tells you you are useless. cause you are not a machine, that someone can use as when they think we are of use to them, and dispose of us when we are not of use to them. We are people we have feelings, we are not created to be used by others, if we do that is because we choose to help others, not because we want to be used by others. STOP buying into the I am usefull I am good I am useless I am not good, that role model has to fall, because that is how society pushes you to use, dont buy into that. Remember first and all the most important person in your life is yourself, never forget that.

@talktomeok While I appreciate the sentiment and it sometimes works for depressed people, I think the focus should be putting thoughts into perspective and try to look at things from an objective view. It's not so good but it's never that bad. Depression most often comes from misguided perspective in my opinion, so I don't think one should think him/herself is the most important person just to realize that s/he isn't "useless." It's in fact kind of narcissistic to think one has more value than the others.

@SecondIntelligentWorld Well the idea here is trying to put yourself first, because usually a person with depression it has low self steam and also thinks very low on itself. Also because it thinks of oneself as a machine that when it does not work it is useless as I said before. So I think is as simple as saying one should take care of oneself in the best positive way before thinking on trying to be productive and such. Once the person can bypass his depression I think it can help to get integrated on soicety in that way, but obviously it deprens on the person. Lets say someone who is already doing lots of things like working and such and contributing, and he takes hi joy from there, well in that case he could be keep doing it. Yet in the case of someone who feels worthless because he does not do anything, well I am trying to show this person , that he can still feel good at that point, and once he recovers for being useless, he can choose to reincorporate himself into society. You see many people cant go back into being active becasue they are trapped into this depression cicle which makes them being inactive sometimes for ever and escaping with different ways.

I totally agree with what you said. One thing many people don't realize is that its okay to be selfish when it comes to caring about yourself. You are the most important person to yourself, and you are therefore a priority over everything else.

@Ren True, first is to care about oneself, and once you past this, you can care about others. I hope you have a lovely week.
