The struggle with "If a friend felt like this, what would you say to them"

Hiya there I had a longer text about my situation and all, but then I did something and lost the text. 😔 Long story short: I've had cognitive behavioral therapy for 4 years and I've faced the "what would you say to a friend" question over and over again during these years. I'm all out of ideas (been for a long time), and this question pops up everywhere. And I have nothing to get me by. I've talked about this to my friends and they're too out of things to say; maybe because they're too very pessimistic with the doctors and overall help that's out there. So, for inspiration and giving better (more positive...) ideas, would you like to share your supportive sentences? What would you say to a friend, who feels like this or is in similar situation like you?

@impartialOcean9 I agree with you. CBT is often about dealing with situations that come up again and again over the years, and after a question like "What would you say to a friend?" has come up many times, there is nothing new to say about it. 4 years is a long time to go over the same questions.

However, there is another form of CBT (the original form, in fact) that doesn't use this approach. Instead, it examines the underlying cause of the problem in depth in order to change things permanently. I've written more about this issue here: Find effective therapy

So what I would say to a friend is, "Maybe a different therapist might have a different approach."
