This feeling...
I feel so worthless. I've never felt this way before. I did some things recently hoping to distract me from my depression, that I didn't realize how much worse it would actually make me feel. I don't know what to do anymore. I want to give up. I don't know how I can continue from this life anymore and the pain is too much to handle. I feel so alone. I have friends and family, but I feel like no one can really understand how I am feeling even when I tell them. And I just want to stop hurting. I want to stop but I still have that little voice in the back of my head telling me to keep going forward. I don't know what I am doing anymore. I just want to be my old self again even though I never knew who I was. I just want to stop hurting. I want to be me again. I want to get better. I keep trying and I keep failing. It feels like I will never be better.

Hello there lovely,
Thank you for reaching out here today, it's always a wise move to gain other perspectives on lifes troubles. But just for now, I do want you to try and understand one thing, you may feel completely alone, but your not, you do have your fiends and family and this whole community willing to support you. And even thought you feel they do not quite understand you and how your feeling, they are still there for you because they love and respect you.
I'm not sure what you have done, but I think it's safe to say, we have all made some decisions in the past, some we may not be to proud of, but that is where it's at, in the past, we can't change this no matter how much we worry about it, but we can do something about it in our present time. Experiences change us, they can change our outlook on life and how we react to things, this is a good thing, because it means we are learning from our past experiences, even though changes are never easy, we fight to hold on, and we fight to let go, sometime we have to accept that certain things will never go back to how they were before, but we learn to embrace the new challenges ahead, because life goes on.
Listen to that little voice in the back of your mind, because the biggest achievements come from tiny steps, tip toe if you must, but each little step, is one in the right direction to keep moving on.
Be easy on yourself, take care and best wishes.
@Bigfootwithclownshoes I know it is hard right now. Feeling like no one cares or understands is one of the worst feelings in the world. I'm glad you are deciding to keep going. You can do it. Depression is hard. You CAN get better though. There will always be hard days ahead but once you find the treatment that works (therapy, medicine, exercise, supplements, whatever works for you) things will look so much brighter. Just keep holding on and know that there are people who care. Thank you for sharing.

I think one of the hardest things about living with depression is remembering that depression is NOT a happiness death sentence. Depression makes things really hard, even impossible sometimes. But that doesn't mean there's nothing you can do to get better or to improve yourself. The most important thing is self- care. Do things that make you happy, or if you're not up for happiness that day, do something that takes your mind off of things. If you can give your brain a break from all the stress in your life in whatever moments of stability you have, that is improvement that counts for a lot, reguardless of what others may expect from you.
@Bigfootwithclownshoes, how have you been feeling lately? Have you learned any new coping techniques to manage your depression?
Also, just letting you know that I moved your thread from the daily check-ins category to the general threads within our sub-community.
I hope you're feeling a bit better, lovely. Looking forward to hear from you!
*hugs*
