What to do when you drag yourself whole day long

Alright so here's my story. I have been unemployed for almost 2.5 years now and have been diagnozed with depression since a year. Currently, my situation is such that I have lost interest with everything in life. I just feel like sleeping in my bed whole day and doing nothing. I have no idea what am I gonna do in my future. That very thought seems over-whelming. I just "force" myself whole day to perform daily chores. But now have got tired of all this.My psych.just tells me to force myself to do stuff, but it aint so easy. People also advised me to break a task into tiny parts. I did that too, but no success. So, how do I exactly motivate myself to get out of this big hole I am in.

Sorry for the rant. Needed to tell someone badly. Thanks for reading. Hugs

@Mrcheeku I'm sorry you're experiencing this. Have you tried finding something new and fun to lift your spirits? Giving yourself things to look forward to? What would your dream job be, if you didn't have to worry about income?

@Mrcheeku I appreciate you sharing this! I'm sorry to hear that it's been so hard for you to perform day to day activities due to depression. What helped me in the past is not to set the bar too high, like say, just wash 3 dishes instead of doing it all. I soon found that I felt motivated to keep going that way. It might also help to be curious how you'd feel after accomplishing it. Maybe it'll ease the pain just a little. I mean, it can be discouraging to imagine it'd feel "fun" when it doesn't but sometimes it feels better just to imagine yourself having completed it. It might help your confidence. Hope it helps! Hugs to you
