Why can
I used to cry a fair amount, maybe like 3-4 times a week but over the past 2-3 months, Ive gotten really depressed. Now I dont really feel that sad, I just feel numb. I want to cry, I just cant. I try to because it scares me that I cant but I havent done it in about a month now (with the exception of New Years Eve when I had a bit too much to drink). I just feel so empty and emotionless and it scares me. I know that a symptom of depression is excessive crying so Im not sure whether Im just being pathetic and thinking I have depression when I might not. Anyway, if anyones ever felt like this please let me know so I feel less alone thanks. :)
@buffyrose23 Well I can
When I cry so much, I feel empty
I rarely cry anymore either to be honest, I just get this weird tightness in my chest and can't concentrate on anything. Sucks really, because I feel like if I cried it'd be the exact outpour of emotion that I need
I'm in the same situation.
I understand this. I went months without crying and when I finally figured out that crying was what I needed. I was unable to for weeks. It took two hours on the phone with someone dear to me to finally be able to cry. Felt great but have been unable to do it since. It just sucks.
I understand, I can't cry either. For me, it has been many years since I have been able to cry, and I often feel like I should. I cry, but no tears at all. I think I am missing something, or maybe I am just too old and worthless.
The only thing that has gotten me to cry was a bodyworker who was adjusting my back. All of a sudden I started weeping copius amounts of tears. I had hoped that maybe I could cry again, but I have not been able to since. On the other hand, I can now laugh, and that is something. Can you laugh?
