Work and Self Esteem issues. What to do with my confidence at work.

Hi everyone,

Just looking for some help or advice on my issue.

I suffer with depression and low self esteem. I am very shy person who doesn't give too much away. I have a couple of friends and family who I have in my life who I spend time with generally and do things with.

When I'm not with them I am usually on my own and I have little confidence in myself to do things. I work part time in a clothes shop and struggle massively when it comes to talking to people and being myself. Alot of the people there have common interests with one another and easily get along. Where I'm usually in the background shying away and not joining and getting on with my work.

Today was a bad day. I was on my own pretty much all the time I felt low and depressed and couldn't go to someone when I needed assistance. It's been like this still when I had my last meeting with my work adviser and shop manager. I feel like things have progressed but also I'm struggling to deal with the main issues I discussed with the manager and my adviser.

I enjoy the role alot. The previous role may of knocked me back alot due to harsh feedback for the role I was doing. It made things harder day by day. I know that's got something to do with it but right now as I'm feeling better in myself in terms of my new role I still struggle massively with my confidence. I think I now know that it may not be the job but it's either a confidence related issue like anxiety or self esteem or both but I don't know?

Can anyone help me? I'm looking into therapy but it may take a while for me to get a place. Can you please help? Any advice or help will be much appreciated. Thank you
