Zero Interest
I have a hard time getting satisfaction out of anything. Keeping my house clean, my kids accomplishments at school, work performance, books and TV. Doesn't matter what. This is where the depressed person would usually benefit from someone helping out. A friend who could pick me up. Nope. I just have a family who will complain I'm no fun. I can often bring myself to organize things for them. But too often the stress is WAY more than my enjoyment of seeing them happy. And I definitely didn't enjoy it on my own.
Hi @Tasha2319, I understand you so well. When people rely upon you to lift them up but no one seems to lift you up. Perhaps people either feel you are a strong person and therefore think you don't need a hand - I totally relate. Perhaps you are way too generous and selfless (which are two of the most valuable virtues), just like my mom. I'm no one to give advice, but it won't hurt to talk things over with your family. Moreover, you need to rest, to indulge yourself, some "you time". Everyone feels the way you are feeling now at some point... Try to find something that brings you pleasure: drawing, knitting, gardening, cooking, spending some money on new clothes, etc. Friends help, but is so hard to have a friend these days... Tomorow will be a better day, I have faith :) Meanwhile, find ways to enjoy your own company, because you are a beautiful, unique person and life's a blessing. I'll keep you in my thoughts. You got this
@Tasha2319...I can totally relate. I want to stay in bed and not have to deal with anything, but then I feel guilty about being unproductive. There will be a lot of people who cannot understand depression, but there will be a lot *more* people who do. I promise that you'll find someone who can understand you and lift you up.
