@imsorryitry That makes total sense that you're feeling this way. A therapist is someone you tend to make a close connection with, you tell them things you don't always tell other people, and they support you through tough times. It's almost like losing a best friend, and then seeing your best friend with someone else...even though it really isn't meant to hurt anyone, sometimes it's hard to not feel that way.
It's okay to cry, it's okay to feel upset about this. In a way, it can be a kind of 'greiving', over the loss of a close relationship (and, then the acceptance that she also has that professional relationship with others). In the end, it's her job to see and help people. It doesn't mean that you weren't important to her, or that she doesn't care about you anymore. I'm sure she still does! But she also has the capacity to help and care for others too. And that's not always a bad thing :) It would be sad if those other people weren't able to get help too, you know? It's nice that there is a caring person like her that is able to help others, even if sometimes the people have to change, I'm sure they stay in her thoughts
I'm sure you're still in her thoughts too, Hope, and that she doesn't mean to cause you any pain. Obviously she can't leave her practice and move somewhere else every time she has to leave a client, unfortunately it's just impractical.
Sometimes when things like this happen, you have to try your best to be happy that you did get to spend those 7 months with her (I mean, if you liked her as your therapist), instead of being sad that you don't see her anymore, you know? Take away the positive from that time, and start to let go of the rest. It's okay if it takes time, if you have to go through different emotions. A change in a relationship, even professional ones, takes time and is a process, but I know it will get easier
