Friend Groups and feeling wanted
Loneliness, its a feeling i try to bury deep down inside. Some nights like tonight it like to drag me drag into a deep dark hole. It sucks watching quite literally almost all of your friends enjoy the same event or party without you and not getting an invite to join them. I try to cope with it by saying ill enjoy the night in and watch a movie, but it sucks seeing then all together without you having a good time. I dont want to have to ask to be invited to things. I just want to feel needed, appreciated, wanted, and important. Lately Ive been feeling disconnected from them, like im a second choice if noone else is around. Im tired.l, but my thoughts of feeling unwanted are keeping me awake.
@Kenniekebbie
Sorry to hear you feel that way. I think people react to the thought of being lonely and unwanted to differently. One of my good friends takes this kind of stuff very personally and begins to think she is not wanted at all, which is not the truth. I think shes just anxious about the idea that her friends lowkey dont want to be her friends. But the truth is not always what it seems. In comparison, I have experienced this as well but tend to react differently. Naturally, I dont really take anything personal, instead I take it as an opportunity to think to myself of ways I could better myself for myself and not for anyone else, like how can I progressively achieve mental, emotional and spiritual growth? how am I going in school? how can I progress in school? how can I ensure and maintain all aspects of my health?
I do understand your need to feel wanted by friends, it is completely normal as we all want to have a sense of wellbeing. I hope you find the assistance/reassurance you need.
@Kenniekebbie friends who do not include you and use you as a "spare tire" are not your friends...i am sorry you have not found true friends yet [Edited by Erato to remove unsupportive comment, 6/16/19]
