Going through this alone.
I'm going through this alone. family can Only stay for so long, to stay in your corner. sometimes you really need that special someone, right there beside you.
you feel like someone who you can confide in, talk to about your inner thoughts and what's on your mind. someone who you can cry with, laugh with, love with.
but for me, I don't have that. I don't have that special someone, that person who I can do all those things with. so, I sit in a bed, wondering just what and where did my life go completly wrong. truth is I'm just trying to forget.
@Theshadowofmyself I am so sorry for your sadness. It is difficult getting out of bed without knowing there is someone there who loves you.
For me, being in the second half of life, life has had many ups and downs, but I did find a comfort that stays with me through the storm. I cannot tell you where it resides exactly but I found it inside rather than outside. Sometimes sitting by a roaring river or a quiet stream. Sometimes in a vast desert or on a mountain top. Sometimes just sitting on my bed listening to the birds singing. But it was not out there but what was in me that lifted me up.
I am sorry there are no easy fixes, but there is a way through if we are willing to change the way we have got in the habit of seeing the world, if we are willing to think of love as not being far away but deep within. Compassion is what I keep discovering in my heart as I work to listen to others. As I care for others, I feel less alone. It is not easy but it is a path of progress. I hope you find the path that suits you, to being the you you are and always have wanted to be.
@Theshadowofmyself Hello. Your words are very honest and simple. Much as it feels like your life has gone wrong, to be able to cut through everything and write so plaintively has a beauty all its own. Often, it's the darkness which makes us stronger. Everything you've gone through, go through, that you can cry out for love means you have love to give. In turn, you have love to find, whether it be a relationship or friendship. There is, I believe, someone for everyone in this world. Someone who understands our silences and who quietly stands back to watch us shine. Not everyone meets them, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. You've reached out on here, and that's a start. So keep looking and be the kindest you can be to yourself. I truly hope in time, you find who you're looking for. Take care, Jan
