Others make me sick.

Every day i get more and more disappointed by this world and the people in it. I crave social interaction and love from others, but when i put myself out there, i end up hating people even more every time. Everyone nowadays is a sex starved drug addict. I cant find any friends or potential partners who have a personality outside of smoking weed and drinking. I know theres others out there that likely feel the same way, but the other 99 percent makes me feel overwhelmed. Im filled with spite for everyone and try to hide it, but sometimes i really just hate the earth and wish humanity wasnt so garbage. I lost a couple of my best friends to drug use and them turning to pedophilic acts, and the friends i still have just don't really care to check in. I feel like i cant trust anyone anymore and just need some kind of help. Even therapy isnt working well for me. Ive been to multiple therapists and i dont get to see one often enough to really get proper help. (Mostly due to everyone self-diagnosing their "illnesses" and taking slots in therapy.) Not that i can bring myself to trust a therapist anyways. Hopefully someone else on this forum feels the same way and has a better understanding than i do, sorry for the long read.

Hi, Skies!

I can feel the deep disappointment and frustration you have with the world and the people in it. It sounds like you're craving social interaction and love from others, but you've had negative experiences and encountered people who don't meet your expectations or values.

Not everyone in the world is that bad. While it may feel overwhelming to encounter a large number of people who don't align with your values, there are some who might share your perspectives and desires for meaningful connections.

It may require patience and persistence to find like-minded people who can be a positive presence in your life.

The loss of close friends due to drug use and other negative behaviors can be incredibly painful and can leave a lasting impact on your trust in others. It's understandable that you may struggle with trust and have difficulty forming new connections.

However, not everyone is the same, and it's possible to find people who are trustworthy and share your values.

While therapy may not have been helpful in the past, it's worth considering giving it another chance. Building a therapeutic relationship takes time and finding the right therapist who you feel comfortable with can make a significant difference.

It's understandable to have reservations about trusting a therapist, but therapy is a confidential space where you can express your thoughts and feelings without judgment. A therapist can work with you to explore your frustrations, disappointments, and help you develop strategies to navigate your emotions and relationships.

If accessing therapy becomes challenging due to limited availability, there may be other resources you can explore.

7 Cups forums and group chats, and local support groups, can provide a sense of belonging and understanding from people who may have similar experiences and perspectives.

Engaging in activities and hobbies that align with your interests can also be a way to meet new people who share your values and may offer the potential for meaningful connections.

It's understandable to feel overwhelmed and disappointed, but it's important not to generalize or let negative experiences overshadow the possibility of positive interactions and relationships.

With time, patience, and support, it's possible to rebuild trust and find a sense of belonging and understanding in the world.

Therapy is just one tool among many that can support you, and exploring various options, like all that 7 Cups has to offer, can help you find the assistance you need.

All the best,

Marcelo.

It isn't a long read at all. No need to apologize.

There are lots of self-absorbed, problematic people out there. But there are even more good ones. Unluckily they are harder to find. But you can do it.

Start off with the things that you like to do. What kinds of hobbies do you have? @passionateSkies5431

Location can be hard, but there are always more people who think like you than you realize. Are there any anime groups in your area? Or game clubs at the library? There are nerds everywhere. Or maybe you could look for some single travel websites. Then you would be meeting people from elsewhere that are more active.

The more active people are the better ones to make friends with. They are less likely to be into the things that you don't like. I personally can't stand people drinking or doing drugs. But those aren't the people out there going to a national park together. @passionateSkies5431
