ive accidentally ghosted my friends for a month and a half now .. i really want to come back to them before new year but im so scared they might hate me now or think i never valued them which is what makes me chicken out and push back my plan. having a strict family, maintaining my grades and my worsening mental health is what i had to look out for first but it just ended up making me have no time for them in the process. i dont wanna look selfish for dealing w my personal issues, i didnt mean to affect them at all.

also maybe it's bc i may have rsd but before this all happened id often see them be more genuine and have more fun with each other compared to when im there just made me doubt my self worth, or maybe im just sensitive? so ig that was one of the other reasons why i isolated myself

Hi. I understand where you are coming from w needing space to take care of your mental health. I go for a while w out responding to people I care about since it takes so much energy to care for myself when I'm struggling. You have to fill your cup first. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. Hopefully they will be understanding. You could also offer to let them know that later (if there is a next time) you can give them a heads up that you are swamped and need some time. Or maybe even have code words/emojis for different things like 🦜 means I'm ok but I can't talk or 🌕 means I need some space. Just a thought. Also we all have different relationships and systems w different friends. Maybe you might not be the "fun" one (and that's ok) but I bet you can be really understanding and people need that type of friend too.

If any of them are your real friends, they’ll understand. At this particular moment in world history where a pandemic has enhanced our mental health in a negative way, people need to show more love and compassion towards one another I think.
