Coping with Dissasociation

Does anyone else dissasociate sometimes during an episode?

It tends to feel like I'm going numb and floating outside of my body. I feel like I am controlling my body like a video game character instead of experiencing what I am doing and it makes doing anything very hard.

If you do do you have any tips for snapping out of it, preventing it or making it less severe?

Thanks

@Avanemi, these 'episodes' can be quite confusing and disorientating sometimes as well. I agree with Amindfulbalance, mindfulness can be a great tool. There's unfortunately not a one size fits all (even in mindfulness) but you will learn what works for you and what not. EMDR is a type of therapy that seems to be helpful for people with disosiative episodes.
