Could anyone answer this please?
Is it normal to think about not being alive most hours of the day for most days of the week if I'm still functioning just fine, sleeping just fine and eating just fine?
@DeathFrisbee
If you are thinking that you wish to be dead or prefer to be, then it is not normal to think like that all the time. You can still have suicidal thoughts and depression, but still function. Sometimes thoughts become habitual and come around in circles. If you feel like you're okay mentally, then it may be a case of focusing a lot on one thought, but if you're thinking about suicide and feeling low, then I would urge you to get some help from a doctor.
@SilentSerenityy Thanks for the reply. When I'm out and about with people, I'm perfectly fine. However, at home, all I do is sleep or numb my brain watching TV shows that don't interest me. I do find the occasional pleasure in reading though.
I just can't tell if what I'm experiencing is just a general life thing or something that needs medical attention.
@DeathFrisbee
Hi! I don't really have a good idea of what's going on for you, but I know that if I had a friend who asked me that I would recommend they go and see their doctor. Even if you're eating and sleeping okay, constantly thinking about being dead can be pretty distressing and upsetting.
@DeathFrisbee Ofc NO!!
@DeathFrisbee NOT NORMAL !!!
Only people with depression or mental issuse can think like that, so if someone said normal, just note that they are also NOT NORMAL OR SICK MENTALLY !!!
I've had the same question, for almost 10 years I've had that same feeling, "I wish I was dead", I'm functioning fine, I would never act on it because of my family, I love them too much to make them go through something like that. But every time I'm alone with my thoughts I make that same wish... So I guess you can live with it. If you go to a professional let me know what they tell you, I can't afford one haha. And I hope you can move on from that feeling, it's not nice
