Every get angry at God?
~~Please excuse this fruitless, cathartic and angry rant about Gods infinite apathy in regards to the immense amount of suffering my-self and others endure every minute of every hour of every day of every week. I alternate between belief in God and atheism/agnosticism. Today, I choose atheism because I cant believe a good god would allow, not only my suffering but the suffering of so many of his children in the world. The worst part is that I have yet to fully shake off the belief in a good and personal God due to the Christian-fundamentalist upbringing I experienced. So, from time to time I cry out to God for answers, I believe I am owed that much. Im not one of these self-hating Christians who thinks we are too small to demand questions and to be angry with God. If I was brought into existence by a higher power who threw me and others into a joyless, pain-filled existence, I deserve answers! A mean God would say something like, its impossible for the human brain to fully understand my plan etc. Well, apparently we are governed by a sadistic God because when I cry out to God there is nothing but deafening silence. Im not even asking God to remove my pain or give me all the answers. I only want to know one thing, IS MY SUFFERING A PART OF A GREATER PLAN/PURPOSE? I can sum it up into 4 words, Is the plan perfect?. What I mean by this is, is all this suffering part of a Perfect pre-ordained plan in which an exponentially greater good will come from it the future? If it is, I can endure. If my suffering is simply due to a genetic predisposition and chronic stress from running a business and I just happened to have been the victim of chance or genetic lottery and this disease (depression) is going to grind me down day after day until Im the shell of a man I used to be, then this world is pointless and we should all kill ourselves or live like a nihilistic until we die of an STD or from a heroin overdose. All the while these thoughts are going through my brain, God must be kicking back on a lawn chair just watching the world, society and individuals self-destruct. Sorry for the negativity folks, I just need to vent. Anyone else like to shake their fist at God every once in a while?
I get angry with God all of the time. I was brought up being told the He made everything perfectly...but my brain legitimately doesn't function quite right. How is that possible? Not to mention the idea that my pain could all be taken away by this all powerful being but He just chooses to let me live it, because it's for some higher purpose or something. I don't see how it would make sense to let all of us live out lives that we are so miserable in that death sounds like a welcome escape. I can kind of see the whole thing behind the suffering that comes from our own poor choices, but not this. Not when none of us did anything to make this happen. It's unfair.
There is nothing to be angry at God because it has never done anything about the story that you told and believed . There were your choice and your false. İt has never promised to make you happy.

It's not really a choice when you are indoctrinated since infancy. I don't expect God to ensure I'm happy all the time, I just wish I had been given a fair chance at making it in the world. Depression is the worst handicap because you can't reach your full potential, you can't fully participate in life and none of your friends or family will every understand it. Most will wonder to themselves why you don't just pick yourself up by your bootstraps or your lazy or weak. A smoker with lung cancer get's more sympathy and understanding than a depressed person.
I am not angry with God, i am angry with mankind who divides us into rich or poor and sets limits to who we can become.
I agree with you. I am a closet agnostic in the really religious environment. Most of the time, i can hide all my opinions to myself, but i once slipped some argument that i defend same sex marriage, and that one time, my best friend call me a heathen.
Hiya. So I can't answer all of what you are asking but I will attempt to explain what I do know and understand from my own experiences. I like your explanation of deafening silence.. I would see it more as the noises and attacks of the devils being silenced by God and becoming more aware of our surrounding and external sounds, traffic, wind etc. I believe that tests and trials throughout are lives are us being cleaned from sin.
A man said to the prophet muhammad : O Messenger of Allah, who among the people are most sorely tested? He said: The Prophets, then the next best and the next best. A man will be tested according to his level of religious commitment. If his religious commitment is solid, his test will be more severe, but if there is any weakness in his religious commitment, he will be tested according to his level of religious commitment. And calamity will continue to befall a person until he walks on the earth with no sin on him. The Prophets suffered terrible calamity throughout their lives.
Here you can read some of the things the prophet muhammad mentioned on trials.

It is also said in the Bible; 4 and into an inheritancethat can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,5 who through faith are shielded by Gods power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith.
This life is a test we are not supposed to be constantly happy in this life or constantly getting what we want, or our way. That is the reward of heaven for those who do well and show genuineness of faith even in times of adversity.
Realising you are angry with God is a good thing, I didn't realise that for many years of my life. I don't want to be angry with God, I can see how much I have been blessed with.
They best way I can understand it is: recently everything seemed to be going wrong, I wasn't getting yeses off anybody and in many instances it was people saying no to me in an unjust manner. I knew that it was humans choosing to be unjust towards me and that God would have mercy on me and make me stronger for what I had been going through. I knew no matter what I couldn't show my anger towards these people but that it was normal to feel anger under these circumstances. Anger like many other emotions are natural human responses. To act on that anger would be wrong.
Under all the stress my son started to become angry with me on things I had been saying no to him about. I had his best interests at heart when saying no to him and new them things weren't good for him and that he would be better off in the long run without. It made me realise that even in my situation God is doing these things out of kindness and love for me and that I should not lose sight and gratitude for what I already have. I believe that and hope for my reward in heaven.
We have already been told
"And We will try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and fruits; but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere."
There is an episode in Season 1 or 2 of the TV series House M.D. where House has to treat a nun. At one point she says that she was angry with God for a long time "but then I realised that I cannot be angry with Him and not believe in Him at the same time". Gave me something to think about. Is there a God? Or am I angry with someone who doesn't exist? Does my anger prove I am in fact in a normal relationship (where anger happens) with a not so normal Being/Person/Someone?
I totally understand what you're staying, because most of the time I feel like I am too low for God to deal with, which, I don't think I should believe. It is a definite that an amazing God exists and that he sent his Son to come and die on the cross for us, but I, too, can't help but feel I'm not worth saving. I have cried out to God so many times and have come up days and weeks later still empty handed. I do believe, that God loves you SO much and that in the end, this suffering is going to have a good outcome. He is putting you through this trial to bring something of it, like strengthening relationships or something of the sort. He really does love you.
Wow, I was in a bad place when I wrote this. It's almost like reading someone else's post. While each minute of my day is not exactly joy-filled, I'm coping better now. I have a plan to simplify and de-stress my life and I am trying to enjoy the process of implementing that plan rather than just anticipating the end result.
