How do you prepare for a bad day?
Hiya Everyone,
If you know or feel you're going to have a bad day.. how do you prepare?
Normally I:-
🌟 Warn people and make sure I have somebody to vent to after/during that bad day.
🌟 Try to ease the problem which will make it a bad day.
🌟 Plan something lovely to do in the evening! That way there is something to look forward to.
What about you?

I usually get into a reckless mode, as in, you gotta do what you gotta do. No one can stop me and then cry and cry and cry. If Im listening to Johnny Cash - "Hurt" then you know I'm having a bad enough day to hurt myself.
My partner is usually available for me to vent and, if I feel I might become violent, I call him and hide somewhere to keep me and other people safe.
I try to keep my mind busy with something other than whats making me have a bad day.

Aha I see what you mean!! You've just got to survive the day and do what you gotta do. Then crying it out can really help express your emotions too! Having a loving partner to vent to is amazing too. Also, making steps to keep yourself is very important. You've gotta stay strong through tough times. Thank you for sharing!
@blossombreathe I go about my day as I normally would mainly because I have no choice. At the end of the day I tell the person who lives with me to leave me alone and do some self care
@blossombreathe
First, I let my husband know, so he knows that NOTHING today is his fault.
Second, I call my son and tell him I love him and that I am proud of him.
Then they both tell me things will be okay. They are usually right.
If the depressive episode (or even only some of its symptoms) are rolling into my life, I try to be honest about it with my loved ones. I simply say that I'm feeling off right now or that my brain is "shutting down", which happens quite often after stressful, tirring day. That is a cue for people around me to not question why I'm taciturn or unhappy.
If I feel a need to cry, I let myself cry in a space where I could be alone for a moment. And I schedule pleasant activities, like watching a comedy or reading a book or playing a game or taking a long shower.
Also, I definitely try to go to sleep earlier, if that's possible, so I can end this day as soon as it's possible, recharge and start a new page.

Ah I understand. So you try to let your loved ones know that you're not feeling oo good and then you try to look after yourself the best you can. Sometimes I don't like people firing questions at me either!
Crying is good to get out your emotions and also trying to think of something nice to do after that particular bad day is amazing too!
I helped my friend out yesterday and he was having a pretty bad day, so I said this to him. "We've got one hour until we're going home. Take it easy, do what you can and think of how relaxed you will feel when you get home! Just survive and take a few deep breaths. You'll be okay!" And it really helped him out.
Getting a good night's sleep is also very important! Thank you for sharing Celaeno, stay strong!

I try and talk to my partner and have a cuddle. I also try to make myself feel better by dressing nicely and doing my make up, if I feel more confident it helps me push through.
