Is it weird for someone to have autism

@politeNickel1992 When you write "have autism" it makes it sound simple, but mostly autism is now thought of as a spectrum that includes a very wide range of conditions.

At one end of the spectrum there are people who are very severely disabled and need permanent intensive care. At the other end of the spectrum there are people whose autism is barely noticeable. Not many people have experience of the whole spectrum.

Over the years I have used words like... Introvert, antisocial, socially inadept etc to explain myself. At 45 and so stressed about my inability to deal with people, I finally found someone taking about the autism spectrum and how women present. She listed 16 common things in it. Of those 16, 14 felt like she was talking to me directly. I went on to try tests, they said I have a high probability of being autistic to a degree. I am doing more research of course, but I think this is me.

I must say .. just knowing why I have problems like I do with people, makes me feel better.

Disorder or not, it can never be weird to be the way someone is. It's people who react weirdly. One must always be comfortable in their own skin.
