Need some hope...will I ever get better?
I have had bad depression on and off for the last 6 years, sometimes accompanied by anxiety too. Every depressive episode, I lose more friends, feel worse about myself, my world becomes more restricted and small, my physical health suffers because of self neglect.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and managed to come out of the other side and feel better for good? Is it possible to truly recover from major clinical depression if you have had it for many many years despite treatment? I am worried I am losing myself and will never recover fully.
@placidWest9840 It sounds like you have gone through a lot and it might sound cheesy and insincere but you are stronger than you think. When you talk about your struggle with depression these past 6 years you might see failure as you are still struggling with it, but I see strength and courage for putting up with and surviving through those difficult times. I have been in the position you're in and it can truly seem hopeless but there is hope. Getting better is possible and I know you can do it.
@placidWest9840 I only could give this virtual hug *hug*. I've been in the same situation as you are even right now I'm still doing everything I could to cope it. You're so brave, placid yet so strong. I really I could deliver my hugs and love for you in person. I'm sure about one thing, there's light within all of these darkness. You can and you will. I really believe in you. I suggest you to listen to this song- Clearly by Grace Vanderwalls, It's such a motivation to hear it. I'm sure you would love it.
