One thing that triggers my depression is....
Whenever I have to have contact with my ex wife
Literally when the tiniest thing goes a tiny bit wrong and I get all dramatic
One thing that triggers my depression is being emotionally abused
The Army. It's hard not to remember I enlisted only to turn back before I could start Boot. The month I spent at Fort Jackson reminds me that I tried enlisting cause I wanted to prove myself to someone. I was far from home and nearly all my friends left me because one of them thought my Boyfriend was lying about his cancer. Fort Jackson reminds me of how severely I've been pushing down my problems and how uncaring some people are toward mental illnesses. After all, what depressed person likes to hear they are selfish for having suicidal thoughts, by their First Sergent and Drill Sergent. That memory is especially triggering...
@BeeTiger I hate how people think that depression is somehow your fault. Its not though—its an illness that you cant just snap out of. You need proper treatment for it, just like any physical illness. I get the same shit from people too, its very frustrating. Im actually not talking to anyone at the moment because Im told Im crazy and throwing a pity party for myself because of my depression. Its hard though, I understand.
When I want to talk but fear overwhelms me
@RecoveringFlower
I find myself having these same problems. I literally Try everything in my power to get that Courage to Speak up but I never Can. I fear People wont listen, I fear that people wont want to converse back because there no interest.
My boyfriend ghosting me.
self-harm/suicide mentions🙈
The physical pain I experience all day every day. I just cant believe how much I continue to have in my current living situation. I hate cold more every year the older and more injuries I get.
Reminding myself of the past. I often think back on the past, what I could've done differently, and how people treated me. I put myself into a state of reliving the bad parts of my past, and feeling stuck in that time again. I pull myself out by praying, meditating, and distracting myself with productive things instead.
When something goes wrong i get anxious then start to feel depressed it triggers those feelings from the past and memories of the struggle to battle the feelings. Then i feel like i dont want to do anything.
