Riding the rollercoaster
Hey. I'm not too familiar with sharing any of this stuff with anybody, but I can't keep living this way, so here goes.
I've had depression for about 3 years now, and I've been on medication for the past 9 months. Problem is, I'll feel ok, like I'm getting better, and then I'll get a day when I break down and sob and I want to die so much. I would never take my life but it's so hard to keep going. Is it normal to go from good to wanting to die so suddenly? I'm not sure if these highs and lows are just a part of depression or if they're caused by something else.

While Im not on meds, but I know how it feels, and in my experiance, yes it is common, to have this kind of mood swing, meds are great help, but meds on its own, not enough, try to open up, let it all out, learn how to feel your emotions, and expressing them, that will help you greatly

I'm sorry you've been struggling recently. It sounds like the medication has helped you feel a little better, but sometimes depression strikes and you have a really low day. I get those days too, and they totally suck. There's nothing worse than feeling ok one day, and feeling down and hopeless the next, even to the point of feeling suicidal. It can feel unpredictable and make the good days feel temporary. I haven't found a way around those days but to stay strong and fight your way through them. And since you came here and shared what you've been experiencing, I know you have that strength. Hang in there!
