What is something Depression keeps others from knowing about you?
Depression can be good at masking who you really are as a person. It can keep others away and selfishly keep you all to itself. What is something that Depression keeps others from knowing or seeing about you?
Depression turns you into an elephant. You have NO idea what your strengths are. The owner ties u to a tiny stick with a chain since childhood and u get so used to it that when u grow up u stand there thinking that the chain is still tied to ur leg and you can't get rid of it ( coz it's as strong as it was when u were small). Every one has a different owner. For some it's society, for others it's relationships, for most it's themselves. We have to understand that nothing can bind us. We created those relationships, the society, ourselves. They can't control us. We need to break those invisible chains and discover ourselves. Free yourself from u and u'll see u have no limits. Hope I cud help at least someone.
The depression leads me to a sex addict, i'm clingy and no one wants to have sex like crazy with a clingy person. I never had a normal relationships.
Any sort of passion. Depression makes me feel like there is no point and completely leaves me void of any form of motivation
Being depressive I don't feel any interest to anything. I start to think that nobody has any interest to me or anything I can come up with. So I stop sharing thoughts on Facebook, stop initiating conversations with friends, stop selling my professional consultations which I like very much to do, and even stop doing my own job because I find it totally useless and unwanted and unworthy.
My depression has given me a life of gray colored glasses. Sometimes my glasses slip and I see a bit of color, but it's few and far between. I have been unhappy for most of my life. I have had some moments of happiness, but they were not sustainable. I often worry that the rest of my life will be like this and in the end - have been an entire waste of a lifetime.
My depression hides my fear. Im scared of everything now. Mostly losing more friends and the love of my life. Most people thing its just being sad but for me, its feeling scared and tired and hopeless. It keeps people from understanding that when i withdraw and push them away it's not because i want to, its because I'm afraid of more pain. Its fueled my addiction as well, making me a functioning, depressed, manic addict. And honestly, that's the scariest part
The fact that I can still continue performing every so called required task that the world expects of me and still lie awake every night thinking of my shortcomings and regrets, is mind boggling. As if something is being created everyday from an empty source. Its magical, scary, overwhelming and heartbreaking all at the same time.
Depression for me is i feel like drowning in my own feelings and i wear a mask that prevents people from knowing how i REALLY feel. Sometimes people think the mask i'm wearing isn't a mask at all. Sometimes the mask is not effective at all. My negative thoughts and feelings starts to tear the mask apart because i couldn't keep it in anymore. When i am alone and nothing to do to distract myself from my negative thoughts and feelings, i think about how ugly i am, people's bad opinions about me and etc. You might not have this feeling if you're depressed because people experience depression differently.
That I'm not antisocial, I'm not one of those people who just likes being alone. I hate being alone, I love groups, I just don't have a good group of friends I can talk to out of school.
@Q1030 me too. I hate being alone but I dont know how to be around people either
@Teahbug It's actually gotten a bit better recently. I joined my high school GSA group, and kinda have a group of friends there. It's not great, but it gets better, slowly. And today is national coming out day, and I'm coming out as bi when I get some, so that's gonna be fun. Parents are gonna be accepting, I think.
I would recommend checking out the GSA or Chorus/Band, those are good ways to get groups of friends.
My depression is keeping me from living a healthy lifestyle. I don't have the motivation to get up in the morning. I try to eat healthy, but it's so hard, when I can barely afford any good food. I want to exercise but I feel like it's not worth it. Like I'm not worth it. It's awful when I think about it, It's like it's keeping me from living a normal life and I want to be productive, I'm just not ,because something is missing. And that 'something is missing' feeling is how I can describe my depression the best.blike nothing is ever good enough. I guess it's keeping me from seeing the beauty of every day life.
