@imsorryitry Hey Hope, I don't think that it means you're going insane/crazy/or anything like that. Feeling numb and "out of body" is a common symptom of depression, especially when mixed with anxiety. It can even happen just from stress! In some cases, people may call this "dissociation"--which just means there's a disconnect between yourself and your surroundings/body. There is a range of different types of dissociating, and it can be a sort of coping mechanism when things are too much to handle. Any person can experience a form of dissociation, it doesn't automatically mean there's something super wrong. (even regular old daydreaming could be considered a form of dissociating!)
So, that could be the case here, or it could just be another symptom of your situation. The bottom line here, is that you're not crazy, and you can recognize that this is just a feeling, instead of reality. If you're feeling worried about it, you can try to find some grounding exercises to see if they help you, and you're always welcome to talk with your therapist about what you're experiencing :)
@imsorryitry
I was watching a video about Derealization the other day, and it's a condition where you feel like you're in a dream, often due to stress.
I was actually worried I had this, too. I'm always having days where I wake up feel like I'm still asleep and for me it mostly happens when I read, watch TV or a movie or go through a lot stress, so any time where I'm submerged in another world or I don't want to be in this one.
I don't know if this helped at all, but I just figured it might a little bit
I also fell like I am observing my life instead of living it, thing seem surreal if I use words that I don't fully understand.You are not crazy and you are not alone. Hang in there, one step at a time.
