The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance is a non-profit organization providing support groups for people with depression or bipolar disorder as well as their friends and family. (wiki)

DBSA is a wonderful organization that provides access to mental illness survivors in a support group setting within all communities across the country. Why am I telling you this? Because I think it is worth knowing that you do have options, and one of them includes free group therapy.

Last night I attended my second group ever. I was left with a swell of emotions, and at times it can get pretty difficult. They make it a point to provide support, feedback, and resources which is ultimately, the reason we attend. I encourage anyone who hasn't utilized this to search for groups near you and attend one soon.

It looks a great source of support for anyone in the USA.

For anyone who is in the UK and would like similar support I really recommend 'Bipolar UK', I have to many of their support groups in the past and now help to facilitate one in my area. If anyone would like more information on what to expect from attending a group feel free to message me.

I still attend on Thursday night's when I can. Has anyone else attended a DBSA group in the past?
